In addition to being made with fermented turmeric, Landish's new Golden Latte Mix formulation includes black pepper to fully optimize the bioavailability of curcumin, the main active compound in turmeric.
Piperine, a natural compound in black pepper, increases the bioavailability of curcumin. There are currently two theories on how this works: (1) piperine slows down the breakdown of curcumin by the liver, increasing its blood levels, and (2) it helps curcumin to pass through the intestinal wall and into the bloodstream (1)(2).
One study showed that consuming piperine and curcumin together in a 1/100 ratio increased the bioavailability of curcumin by 2,000 percent (3). Our new Golden Latte Mix was formulated based on this study.
