Is Landish marine collagen plant-based? Is there such a thing?

Plant-based collagen does not yet exist commercially. There are vitamin and mineral supplements marketed as collagen boosters and they can certainly help with collagen synthesis, however they are not nearly as impactful as actual hydrolyzed collagen.

That said, we are closely following biotech developments that will allow for the production of collagen through a process of fermentation, whereby microbes transform sugar into collagen. This is very advanced science that has yet to be commercialized––but we plan on being one of the first brands to offer it in years to come!

We will actually be launching another animal protein that is made with no animal material (vegan) later this year, in partnership with a biotech company––stay tuned!

In the meantime, Landish marine collagen products are made from the skins/scales of wild-caught fish (a by-product that is not sold with fish filets) and do not drive any fishing. They are currently the cleanest and most sustainable collagen products available!
