Many Landish products contain functional ingredients that are known to reduce inflammation.
Turmeric root, ginger root and ashwagandha root (found in Landish Turmeric Ginger Latte Mix) are all known for their inflammatory properties. Curcumin, a compound found in turmeric, has been shown to reduce inflammation and promote better overall health by fighting off common diseases linked to chronic inflammation (1)(2)(3). Closely related to turmeric, ginger root's primary bioactive compound gingerol has significant anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties (4). Ashwagandha root has also been shown to help minimize inflammation by increasing the activity of natural killer and T cells, which help protect the body from viruses and bacteria (5).
The leafy greens, grasses, algae, and berries found in our SmarterGreens and SmarterBerries provide an array of antioxidants, such as carotenoids, polyphenols, vitamin C, vitamin A, and beta-carotene (a precursor to vitamin A) that help to reduce inflammation in the body (6).
Functional mushroom extracts (found in Landish 5 Mushroom Hot Chocolate Mix) are also traditionally known for protecting against chronic inflammation. Recent scientific research has shown that the anti-inflammatory effect of functional mushrooms can be attributed to their concentration of fungal beta-glucans, a type of prebiotic polysaccharides (7).
The amino acid glycine (found in Landish Pure Canadian Marine Collagen) has also been shown to have a protective effect on inflammation, as it suppresses the formation of free radicals and inflammatory cytokines (8).
