Can collagen consumption help build muscle?

Research has shown that collagen supplementation can help to enhance muscle mass and strength, following resistance strength training (1). In a research study, 53 elderly men with sarcopenia (age-related muscle loss) experienced a significant increase in muscle strength after 3 months of supplementing with collagen peptides (2).
